I started Aloha Cakes out of necessity to satisfy my incessant craving for Hawaiian desserts from my hometown of Hilo. My family was tired of carrying cake from home whenever they visited me in Arizona. Let me say, a 9″ guava cake does not travel well after 6 hours of flying! Despite the sad appearance of my jet-lagged cake, the taste was always amazing. It was the taste of home I loved and missed. I realized I needed to spare my family of my cake obsession and through experimentation, research and a lot of cake tastings in Hawaii, Aloha Cakes AZ was born.
